At Truffle Connection, we hook you up with a dog hunting team for an adventurous day in a beautiful forest, tasting wonderful truffle cuisine. This truly immersive small group tour is packed full of the sights, sounds, smells, and feel of the Pacific Northwest and the forest bounty it provides. You will also receive informative and entertaining descriptions about how the trees, truffles, people, dogs, cuisine, and forests all come together to make the Pacific Northwest one of the most special places in the country.

Guided Truffle Hunting Foray
This all-inclusive group day trip is limited to 10 people. It starts at 10 a.m. when the van picks you up from Sisters Coffee Shop in Portland, Oregon.
The trip includes your choice of coffee or hot chocolate from the café, which we will dollop with black truffle–infused whipped cream. We will drive to a secret forest in Estacada, about 50 minutes away. During the drive, you will learn about the hidden life of truffles and the beautiful forests of the Pacific Northwest.
After we arrive, you can participate in a truffle dog hunting demonstration, where you will learn how the dogs are trained, what the truffles look and smell like, and how to dig one up for yourself. Then we will head into the forest with the professional dog hunting team and guide, who will help you experience a true PNW forest and understand the unique and important role it plays in our ecosystem and climate.
When we arrive at the magical truffle patch, the real hunting begins. Since this is not staged, we might find a lot or only a few truffles. The dogs will find them for us, and everyone will get a chance to dig one up for themselves. There will be plenty of photo opportunities. Hunting will last 30–45 minutes.
We will then head back to the van for our final stop at a beautiful winery, where you will enjoy white truffle pizza and other culinary truffle dishes. Wine tasting or other non-alcoholic options are included.
On the drive back to Portland, you will learn about truffle care and cooking or infusing with truffles. We will leave you with a bag of truffled popcorn to share with your friends. If we have enough, you will also have the chance to buy rare truffles for your home kitchen. We will arrive back in Portland around 3 p.m.
We go rain or shine, and it can be muddy, so please be prepared. We must reschedule for snow, ice, or windy conditions (refunds will be given if you cannot reschedule). This is a group event, so you will have the opportunity to meet other truffle enthusiasts. Bathroom and hand-washing facilities will be available.
